His career in the law included representation of major airlines in labor/employment and personal injury litigation; he served as
General Counsel and later President of Pacific Coast Airlines, formerly based in Newport Beach, California; and he also
represented the airline and its employees in various regulatory, enforcement and contractual matters before the FAA, NTSB
and local airport authorities. He was admitted to the bar associations of the U.S. Supreme Court, Ninth Circuit Court of
Appeals, all California state appellate courts and all California federal District Courts.


Prof. Marshall lives in Grand Forks with his wife Sandi [a Grand Forks native], Assistant Professor, Department of Social
Work, UND and their mutts “Benny” & “Joon.” The whole “family” loves the outdoors, fishing, bicycling and visiting their
three daughters and one granddaughter in California and Colorado. Marisa is an elementary school teacher in Encino, CA,
mother of little Lily; Meghan is an aspiring actress with a B.F.A. degree in theater; and Andrea is a biology and art major at
U. Colorado, Boulder.
